Big Shots Elite / Poca (WV) 2017 6’4 SG Elijah Cuffee commits to Liberty. What a great get for the Flames!  Ritchie McKay, Brad Souccie and staff did a terrific job recruiting Elijah Cuffee.

Cuffee, WV No. 2 2017, is a part of the high level WV trio that stars for Big Shots Elite 2017 along with Luke Frampton and Jarrod West.

Elijah Cuffee led BIG SHOTS nationally in scoring with 872 points for No. 1 16U team Big Shots Elite 2017 (17.8 ppg).

Cuffee averaged 14.1 points for the Poca Dots that went 27-0 and became the West Virginia’s first unbeaten state champion in any class since 1987. Cuffee was selected to the Class AA all-state first team.

Big Shots Elite 2017 finished No. 1 in BIG SHOTS 16U division going 46-3 on the year.

One of our favorite players to have come through BIG SHOTS in 10 years.  Cuffee is summed up with his professional work-ethic, a drive to be great, reliable day-in and out that wins on all levels. He has a strong religious beliefs and carries out God’s word in his actions crediting God for his success as he begins each interview.

“I’ve been thinking about making a commitment for a while,’’ Cuffee said, “and praying about it. I was hoping God would lead me in the right way to the best decision.’’

“I love the coaches there,’’ he said. “The school is just beautiful. The spiritual aspect of the school — and the academics — is always something to take into consideration. The forensic science department is just outstanding.

“Then I met the players, and the relationship they have with each other and the interaction they have with each other — I felt like I really bonded with them this weekend.’’

Liberty landed themselves an all-time great in BIG SHOTS that will be a star for Liberty on and off the court.
